An Extract 'Portrait of an Artist as a Young Man' 14/03/08

I became concerned with the idea of performance as an expression itself. in this performance i am reading out an extract from Portrait of an Artist as a Young Man by Joyce. the extract is a from a mass reading, it evokes images of fire and brim stone. The act of reading such an intense piece of writing was an adrenaline provoking experience in front of a live crowd, it tested my hubris as a performer.
